Identify is this bass guitar, please.

Here's the link:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tXwHhvCDO8

If for some reason it doesn't work, you could search youtube, I guess. It's "Marshall Crenshaw - On The Run - 1991 Letterman"
I want to know about the black guitar played by the guy to the far left of the screen. He's playing the ticky-tak riff (and it sounds like it's being run through a delay or a flanger, or something like that).

First of all, is this in fact a bass* guitar (ie: a bass vi type) or is it a baritone guitar?

Second, can anybody identify the make and model? Any other pertinent information will also be appreciated.

Thanks.

Headstock is wrong for a Danelectro. There are a lot of other videos of Will playing the same bass. The name on the headstock starts with "S". It looks like a Sadowsky

It's a Sadowsky. Sounds to me like the bridge pickup only and a chorus pedal attached.

Will is playing a Sadowsky. OP is asking about the guy at stage right (leftmost player in video, near Paul’s keyboard station).

Well, the person on the far left of the screen is Sid McGinnis who usually plays guitar in the band. It does look like a Danelectro headstock, but I can't tell if it's a bass or guitar.

Oh, sorry. My bad. Yeah, that's Sid and it does look like a Danelectro.

It can't be a "guitar", it's way too low ... beyond the reach of a normal 6-string.
Listen to what he (Sid McInnis - I didn't know who he was before) is playing; you can hear Will continue with the "normal" bass line when Sid intermittently holds off.

It has to be either a bass VI-type bass guitar or a baritone. I, too, thought Danelectro, but it could possibly, maybe also be a Gretsch.

But I came across these photos after posting this thread and the pickguard on this particular model seems to match what's in the video clip.

And if what's in the video is indeed a Danelectro, I'm having a hard time finding this particular model. Any ideas?

A Danelectro '56 reissue? Does that sound right?

He's playing tic-tac bass on it. I really like the mix.

This (see pic below) is why I thought it could have been a Gretsch, a Gretsch Jet Baritone. But the pickguard is wrong and the controls are laid out differently. The Gretsch controls lay southwest to northeast. The Danelectro controls lay northwest to southeast, just the opposite ... and that NW to SE orientation is how the controls are laid out on the guitar in the video clip.

The other thing that seriously narrowed the field is that the tuners are three on each side, not six on a side, like, say, a Fender Bass VI.

Well ... I guess it's gotta be a Danelectro baritone.
