I've played that one, Victor Wooten owns it now. It's a nice Alembic-it was a trip to play School Days on the bass he recorded it on! So much of that comes from Stanley's hands. He's a wizard!

Actually, come to think of it... other than the joy of owning the bass of a bass player you admire, why would you want to own Jamerson's bass? Wasn't the truss rod so loose and the action so high that the neck warped from the strain of the strings, which were heavy gauge? Most who had a chance to try it found it unplayable.

I would say the same about Jaco's fretless, but that got a complete restoration job by Trujillo (with flamed maple top) - which I also don't like, but that's another issue altogether.
