Just goes to show, you never know until you have it in hand to "test."
Good luck with your search!! |

LOVE the Jazz. Debating whether to get the new Fender Version. Had it in 76.
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing. | Thanks for the kind response. That Jazz is actually a 76 that weighs nine pounds and has a nice straight neck; it's my favorite bass. I'm sure the new 74 Fenders are going to be major cool, though!

OP, don't be scared of the neck, you will get used to anything if you give it a bit of time.

Small hands does not equal necessity for a small neck. |

Small hands does not equal necessity for a small neck. | Indeed. Although I do find that certain necks do work better with my hands. No bigger than 1 3/4, flatter radius, and a C shape is best for me.
My Ric isn't ideal, but it plays really well and I haven't had any issues. |

If you really like a Jazz, you might not like a Ric neck. The newer ones are pretty fat and a little bit wide. I had a 92' Ric that had a very nice thin neck. It definitely didn't seem like it was the claimed 1 5/8's. It was a beautiful neck. |

If I were you, I'd seek out somewhere that has some in stock and go and try one. Lots of people don't like them. I really like playing them. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
