The inside of a Fender Jazz Bass Plus

I recently bought a Fender Jazz Bass Plus that had had the pickups and knobs replaced and the electronics removed. I'd like to begin tracking down replacement hardware but have no clue where to start. When I take the cover off the back of my bass, all that's in there is the new wiring for the new knobs. I suspect there used to be a preamp in there and far more complex wiring. I was wondering if anyone owns one of these basses, could you post a picture of the inside?

Here is what mine looks like now. I can take a guess where the 9 volt battery went, but where did the preamp fit?

It used to have a Fender/Kubicki preamp, like this. It came stock with Lace Sensors. Honestly, the stock electronics weren't that great.
