Interesting Fender P on CL http://denver.craigslist.org/msg/3582908471.html I've seen the bass in person... it's... heavy. Anyone ever heard of these or remember them from the late 70's? -ek |
I've seen that bridge before, it's a real deal piece but without provenance I don't know how the seller can claim it's an original part |
I remember. Only seen those bridges pop up a couple of times in my ten-plus years with an eBay account. I do NOT recall ever seeing a factory-installed one, though. |
Yeah, I've seen these too - but have never heard of them as a factory Fender part. I wonder if there's any way to prove that. |
Very interesting I have never seen that bridge before. |
Not a factory part, imho. Also, bass looks to be refinished. Check bridge screw holes. |
I've seen the claw before. It's impossible to say if it's factory installed, or even dealer installed. The funny thing is you can clearly see the impression of a standard bridge being installed at some point....or am I crazy? I guess it's possible that somebody walked into a Fender dealer in the late 70's and purchased that bass "new" with the claw on it. |
Hm-m-m-m-m, I could swear that Fender did install the Fender Kahler Claw Bridge on a model or two . . . been a longtime . . . |
$3000?? Hogwash. Plus, how can you trust a guy who misspells "iceberg" and says "one a kind?" |
