Three Stambaugh 5's, an SX PJ, and an NS NXT5 not pictured
2012 was a pretty low-churn year for me. No instrument departures this year, only thing I got rid of was my Aguilar GS412 (replaced with a pair of GS112's) and my drum kit. The additions were the NXT, the spalt/wenge Stambaugh, and the SX.
Some day I'll do a singlecut Stambaugh 6, but otherwise I'm really happy with how things are right now. |

| | Don't want no treble. | | Join Date: May 2012 Location: Long Beach CA | | | True GAS confessions! Sobering thread for those of us afflicted with GAS! All acquired in 2012 as I am a new, yet very committed, bassist. I had been intending to play bass for 40 years before that. So in that context, perhaps this list is not so ridiculous. Then again, it is. You might say that I am a faithful husband and a promiscuous bassist.
My fond hope is that in 30 years, these will all be vintage basses and I will be rrrrrich!!! [cue maniacal laugh] Bwuaahahahaha!
Well loved and regularly played:
Fender 2011 MIJ Classic Series '70s Precision and Jazz
Fender 2011 MIM Classic Series '50 Precision
Fender 2011 MIM FSR Jazz
Fender 2012 AVRI Precision, with Jazz incoming
Fender 1997-98 MIJ Precision Lyte Deluxe
Lakland Skyline 2007 MIK 44-64 Custom (Duck Dunn)
Lakland Skyline 2007 MIK Darryl Jones
Acoustic B200H head and two GK 115MBE cabs
Kustom KXB500 head and 115DE cab
Ampeg BA-108 practice amp
Well loved yet going:
Kay 1962ish MIJ KB-2 short scale
Well loved and gone:
Fender 1998 MIM Precision, sold to a friend
Washburn 1980s MIJ Force 8, sold to a friend

Got some new bass gear in 2012 after a few years of having no gear and playing a friends 5er which really isnt my thing.
Squier Jag SS (used)
Ibanez GSR200 (used)
Finding TB was a great thing for me as well last year. Really helped me tap into the used market and become a better buyer by gaining more knowledge. Before TB I never bought used and never expanded my arsenal because of fear of used equipment and basses. Having no information on certain models, what to look for, whats a good deal, pricing etc...
I was a one bass pony for so long because of that. Now I can know what to look for and jump on deals. Expand the line up, expand my tone and expand the love of playing the low end.

Just bought the Schector a few days before the new year. Haven't had a chance to really play it yet, other then trying it out in the shop.
The F series I had ordered while I was overseas in Nov2011. I had always been eyeing it up, thing looked so beastly. Plays like one too. Will definitely have it for awhile. |

Status unclear:
Ergo EUB - still own it, but loaned it to a girl who's learning to play
Hembry doubleneck - selling/trading some parts, so it currently has one neck

Did not add to my four Martin Keith Basses in 2012...just daydreamed about adding a fifth.
I did, however, cut off my dreadlocks.

2004 Am. Series Jazz
2007 G&L SB-2
2008 Am. Std. Jazz V
2010 G&L JB
2010 MIM Jazz
G-K 700RB-II
G-K MB-500
G-K Neo112 x 2 (first gen)
Roland Cube 100
The only additions during 2012 were the MIM Jazz, which I bought to mod and use as a backup, and a set of Barden pickups for the Jazz V.
I also have a keyboard, an acoustic guitar, a couple of MIA Strats, and a Roland Cube 60 guitar amp.
