| | | | I'm pretty content with my stable as its been for 2 years now. Only one addition recently, but it's gonna go to a buddy that is starting to learn bass and needs an instrument.
- Schecter stiletto extreme-4. Black cherry finish that is marred, chipped and dented severely.
- parts P. All GFS parts except for a mighty mite neck. Painted some sort of milky green with acrylic lacquer. It's aging nicely.
- Franken-P. Black knockoff strat body with a 90's MIK squier standard P bass neck mounted on it. Pickup from a junk ibanez bass, bridge from same junk ibby. This bass will be going to my buddy. It looks like crap, but it plays nicely and sounds exactly like a precision bass.
- Chinese import upright bass. Does jazz well enough and sounds alright played arco. For my needs, it's satisfactory.
I don't plan on adding anything to my stable ATM. I kinda want to build a P bass with dual jazz pickups, but I doubt that I'll ever get around to it.

2006 Warwick P-Nut II
2008 Warwick Streamer Stage II
2011 Warwick Streamer LX
The Stage II was the only bass I had throughout all of 2012 (getting it in spring of 2011), but I didn't go through nearly as many swaps/trades/purchases as the last few years. I started off 2012 with a Musicman Bongo along side the Stage II, then in spring traded that for a Lakland JO5. It wasn't until near the end of 2012 that I swapped the Lakland for the Streamer LX, and then found the P-Nut just a few days before Christmas. Aside from those changes, the only other instrument changes I made was buying an acoustic guitar and selling it a few months later after rarely playing it. Both of my electrics (MIA Telecaster and Gibby LP) were both acquired in 2011 and remain.
Current goal for this year....no new purchases or trades! Really quite happy with my current setup. A new amp is the only thing I would like, but absolutely cannot justify, nor would it get used often, so it's easy to avoid that purchase.

| | | | I have the following basses as we enter 2013:
- Fodera Victor Wooten classic monarch
- Fodera emperor
- Pedulla MVP 4
- Grosh jazz bass
- Pedulla MVP 5 (on it's way - to arrive tomorrow)
... a year ago I had zero basses. I am/was a guitarist for twenty-some years and just started playing bass in 2012. I see fewer gear purchases in 2013... I hope! |

1981 Washburn SB40 - original owner
2012 Fender MIM Precision - lake placid blue
2012 Fender 60's Jass - 3TSB
2012 Ibanez SR500
Guitars:
Mid 80's Fender Bullet H1 - Candy Apple Red. Rarely played. near mint condition.
Until recently, I hadn't played at all in about 25 years. I started in the mid 70's on a Gibson Grabber (long gone, unfortunately). I recently started playing again when my kids wanted to learn to play. I was in various garage bands when I was young. Now, I just enjoy goofing around with the bass at home. I plan on adding something nice this year when I hit a certain milestone birthday. |

Stingray HH, my main gigging bass.
Highway one Precision
January 2013:
Still have them all except I've swapped out the hwy P for several basses that don't stay long (Stingray classic, lakland 4402, American P Special) with a Stingray SLO incoming.
Also added a MIM 70s reissue jazz and am looking for a cheap P. |

Basses:
-90's MIJ (body)/MiM (neck) Fender P
-'95 Ibanez ATK300
-2009 SX Jaguar (short scale)
-2003 Squier Bronco (modded)
Amps:
-'68 Kustom200
-'84 GK 400rb
Cabs:
-2007 Acoustic 4x10
-90's Peavey 1x15
-'78 Acoustic 6x10
In fact, last year, the P bass was the ONLY big bass purchase i made. I've been downsizing ever since.

'98 Fender MIA P
'10 Ric 4003
'94 Gibson Les Paul Standard
'11 Gretsch G2202 (short scale for my 9 year old son)
All have been in the stable for a while and none will be leaving any time soon. My GAS is satisfied with the Fender, Ric, and Gibson(except, possibly, for an upright bass).

| | Thanks to Alembic, I'll have G.A.S. until I die. | | Join Date: Aug 2011 Location: New York City | | | I started off the year with the following:
SX P Clone
Ibanez GSR200
Rickenbacker 4001
Ibanez Lawsuit Rickenbacker (defretted)
Danelectro Longhorn
Fender Jazz Bass Legacy
ESP Surveyor II
Squier Mike Dirnt
During the course of 2012, I traded the Rickenbacker 4001 for a EBMM Sterling which was lost in the mail by the fine folks at the USPS who refused to pay the insurance I got on it. I also traded Ibanez Lawsuit for a late model SR that I never bonded with so I sold it on ebay. The Dano Longhorn left my stable in March and the Jazz Bass Legacy left in August. The pre on the ESP crapped out in around July, so it has been in storage since then with my Ibanez and SX. The Squier Mike Dirnt will never leave my side.
In 2012, I bought, in chronological order:
Aria Pro II TSB-650 (Still have it, in storage waiting for a fret job.)
Fender P Bass Lyte (sold on CL in July)
Ibanez ATK 300 (Sold on TB in March/April)
Rickenbacker 4003FL (Still have it)
Squier VM Precision (In storage, will probably be sold soon)
Status Graphite Stealth 6 Headless 3 Band (Still have it, needs some work on the electronics)
Alembic Persuader (Still have it)
Spector Euro somethingrather (Still have it, but will probably be sold soon)
Lakland Skyline 44-60 (Best Jazz bass I have ever played. I'll be keeping this for a while)
Spector USA NS-JH5 (Still have it, needs some work on the electronics)
Kramer XL-8 (Still have it, needs some TLC)
1998 Fender AVRI Jazz Bass (For sale! Now! As I type this!)
Alembic Epic (Still have it)
Harmonia 6 string fretless ABG (My noodle around at work bass. Will probably be putting a nice thick coat of poly on the fingerboard soon.)
As for amps and pedals, I entered 2012 with a Wah Wah for guitar and a bass Wah Wah. I still have both of those, but I now also have a Sansamp BDDI and a GK RB800 (I think).
It was a pretty good year I guess.
For 2013, the word on my lips is downsizing. I have no need for so many basses when I don't even gig. The thought of trading many of my basses for one high end bass has crossed my mind. Just need to find a bass that I would want to trade for with an owner who wants to play.
