If you like thin necks I would look at Ibanez. They have some great basses for the money.

ESP Ltd.
They're all good.

Cool body shapes is a little hard to define as different people have different preferences in that area. I'd say that if you like thin necks, definitely shoot for an Ibanez. You can get a whole lotta bang for your buck with some amazingly comfortable necks.

MTD Kingston CRB, 4 or 5 depending on your preference

I like a lot of b.c. rich styles. Im more worried about the sound and feel more then the shape.

Another vote for Ibanez, I picked up a SR505 for under six bills.

Definitely a Danelectro Longhorn. Plus you would have a couple hundred left over for other things!

How about this one? Don't know the seller, but it is definitely in the style of the BC rich stuff. http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f126/g...odness-934894/

In that price range, ESP/LTD for sure. Ibanez is good, and popular around here as well. I've owned both, and LTD is far better in that price range, in my experience. They're not popular around here, but give them a try anyway.

Ibanez sound gear 500. Can't best the thin neck and active pickups on am ibanez.

Great suggestions - Ibby's are worth considering if you like slim necks.

Why not buy used? Last month I bought a near mint Tobias Growler for $550 and there's one there now for $600. There's an Ibanez SR700 there now for $380. Not to mention the buys you can find here on Talkbass or local sales via Craigslist.

here are some more specific styles that i like. doesn't have to have the long bottom

i just got a cort a4 for 699. if it had an ibanez stamp on the headstock it would be worth 1500. i love it, better neck than my ibanez too, real skinny down low but nice and flat from 15-24.

edit - i just seen your last post and the cort is pretty standard strat shape, maybe too boring

icecycle66 12-08-2012 08:27 PM

The ESP f series is pointy.
