I've noticed an increased interest in vintage MIJ gems lately,

but no one follows through and buys the vintage gem, and the price is nice.

What's wrong with you guys? You don't know what you're missing.

I have 2 89 MIJ AE Ps and a 93 MIJ J. Not new. Not what I would call vintage. But I bought some MIJ crap.

Another MIJ crap owner here, 2 MIJ Squiers and 2 MIJ Ibanez basses, all pre '86.

Vintage or not my MIJ crap is staying with me.

On a hot day, I can't even go into my studio because the smell of feces made in Japan is so strong.

My MIJ instruments are some of the best I have ever played.

A tri-fecal collection of MIJ craps for me...a couple of crusty 80's P's (as listed in profile) and a fresh steaming 2006 '51 Re-issue...

MIJ Rulez

Here's my '74 Hi-Flier, by acclimation will be the main bass in the new band:

Looking at a chord chart in case you're wondering...

My main bass has been a 1988 MIJ P for over 2 years now. Way better than any MIA I've tried around here in Israel.

95 P Lyte, 67 or 68 Realistic violin bass made by Matsumoku, both Japanese. Amp's all-American, though

I play all MIJ...all the time.

1978 Yamaha MIJ BB1200
Early 80's ESP 400 Series J
Early 80's ESP 400 Series P

That's it for the old dung pile of mine.

Great stuff.

Imo Teisco made some of the coolest knobs of all time.

A lot of those old MIJ single coils sound perfect for 50s-60s music.

Aria ProII = badass w/o trying to copy the big boys.

My '87 Jazz Bass Special is my favorite piece of crap to play most all the time. It even craps on my MIA Jazz. Been gigging it perpetually since February 1988, still bone stock.
