The bass went through a couple of instances of being soaked in beer/soda back in the day. They would cut in and out, and finally just quit working. I didn't replace the pre-amp (I don't think...my friend did the work, and he is a very well established guitar tech for a major label artist so I trust him) and at least he did not tell me that he did....

are you still giving out numbers, or can we just be in the club...

When it comes to Jackson stuff, everyone who has been here a while knows I'm the guy to come to for answers |

I was going to toss it on one of mine, but I have tuned to DGCF as the standard for years, so it would be pointless unless I sold the bass with it on it for the next person. |

He'd never seen a W designation, and I don't know anything about Jackson basses so it's a mystery to me as well. But there it is.
Edit: I was told the W may stand for 'wide neck', so just for reference

neck specs according to your description is standard to everything pretty much Jackson ever made. I'll ask around and see what happens in the other forums also so we all know. |

I haven't given up yet, but that DOES sound logical. |
