Scottsdale, AZ (August 20, 2012) – The Bloodline is proud to welcome two new basses to its JS Series, the JS2 Kelly Bird IV and the JS3 Kelly Bird IV. These new and highly distinctive designs are the result of a longtime collaboration between two metal icons, Jackson guitars and legendary Megadeth bass player David Ellefson.
The JS2 Kelly Bird IV offers striking looks coupled with pummeling tones. Features include a basswood body, bolt-on maple neck, 21-fret rosewood fingerboard with block inlays, Jackson’s unrivaled compound radius, dual Jackson JS high-output covered pickups, Jackson high-mass bridge and Jackson tuners. Available in Burnt Cherry Sunburst and Matte Black.
Designed with the serious metal bass player in mind, the JS3 Kelly Bird IV features a basswood body (flame maple top on trans finishes), bolt-on maple neck, bound rosewood fingerboard with 21 frets and block inlays, dual Jackson JS high-output covered pickups, three-band active EQ (bass/mid/high), Jackson high-mass bridge and Jackson tuners. Available in Trans Black and Trans Blue Burst.

I told the Jackson gang if a CMG neck will fit in the pocket in 5 minutes, I would buy one if I could find one used for 150 bucks, but beyond that?....nope. |

That is by far, my favorite T-bird inspired bass, by far. Hell, I like it better than the real deal, actually. |

My favorite T-Bird on TB as well, and the color is the best!

| | | | Not really feeling it. Not a huge Thunderbird fan in the first place, and this combination doesn't seem enticing either. |

Either the horn needs to be rounded out or the contours need to be made more angular.
Still better than the Spector REX though.

| | Registered User | | | | | I love Thunderbirds. Tbird1958's Jacksonbird is gorgeous btw. But this kellybird isn't doing anything for me. Not a fan of the neck or pointy end of the body. If only Jackson released a new line of Jacksonbirds...

they could get away with it in the 90's because that was before Fender took over.
and TBIRD1958's is a rare unit indeed in sparkle green. I didn't want to wait another 3 months past the 3 months I waited to have that color when I ordered mine from a dealer or I might have gone with that as well, so I got stuck with a black one.
( no regrets )
ad the Spector-bird? meh, not too bad COMPARED to the JS3KB

edit: but that trans blue finish makes up for it, IMO. i really love that finish. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
