Very Cool! Jonas is the man!
I think that is a rare occasion you actually see him smile! Ha!

I think he offered to sell it to them for what he paid for it.

They have some kind of mutual/sharing type thing going on, but Trujillo still owns it.

That's Jaco's son at the beginning, right?

Nice to see it / hear it in action. Very cool. First time I've seen Jonas play too. Pretty neat-o.

I can't really read his name tag, you can sort of see it at 0:22. I don't think it says felix.

Interesting left hand technique by Jonas. It seems like he doesn't use his pinky finger at all when playing fingerstyle, but he does when slapping.

I don't think so, looks like he was there, though.

So, that's the actual Bass of Doom? Obviously it's been worked on a bit. I would imagine that that is a story that has been told and talked to death on TB.

So I won't ask for the story, just somebody point me at a thread por favor.

Nope, that's Mike Bendy from the band 'Shotgun face' (or Bendy Bros. now, I think). I'm not sure how I found out about them, but his playing blew my mind when I first heard it so I'll you tube one of those bands every once in a while. He plays with Julius and Felix Pastorius from time to time so that's probably why he's got it at NAMM. Pretty sure Felix own it, though.

It's Roberts bass, but he does let Felix use it. It's a sharing type deal

It crossed my mind for a moment that Robert should really just give it to Jaco's son, but if I owned the bass of doom, I'd probably keep it too.

Nevermind, Fender.com has a story about it. But doing a search for "Bass of Doom" on Talkbass is like asking someone to pick a particular snowflake out of a blizzard.

Man, that is epic! Jonas looked so nervous asking to try it out too. Glad Robert is taking good care if her.

... that's Mike Bendy! awesome dude and an incredible player. he had a pic of him playing the BOD as his Facebook pic a few weeks ago. I used to date his younger sister

Do yourself a favor and search "Mike Bendy", "John Bendy", "Bendy Pastorius", or "Hipster Assassins" on YouTube...
