For me "mint green" pickguards are a '60s visual cue, and that means rosewood 'board - the maple just looks wrong. So, it's probably going back, but I'm not sure if I'll get a JPM with a rosewood 'board, or another color. Thinking maybe Candy Cola or Charcoal Frost. ??? Sure wish I could get Shoreline Gold. . . | Maybe a parchment pickguard would look better. Not as bright as white and I think the slight cream colour would compliment the jade a bit more. Just a thought.

Fender did not mention that in their announcement statements, and do not mention it on their website, either. If they were looking to differentiate the new instruments from the last series, they are dropping the ball.
I agree, Mint Green would not be my color of choice for some colors, either. It would look great on an Olympic White instrument, IMHO, but they have tort on those.
I know what I would like a Mint Green pickguard on.....Sonic Blue or Surf Green. I can dream......

This is a '57 Reissue Strat that originally had a single-ply white p/g which I swapped out with a mint green.

I am a guitar player as well; I used to have a couple of white Strats that I put mint green pickguards on, and they looked just as nice as your Strat!

I was looking for a JADE-like finish. Now I've found the colour I've been dreaming of and it is even called "Jade".
MMmmm ...
A Jade Pearl Jaguar with Gold Hardware and a few Mayan Mods...

Man,that color is the same as my "once upon a time" mid-80's charcoal gray J-Bass Special. It's turned to a greenish-colored hue (very similar to the pic above) over the years. Looks nice with that maple 'board. |

| | | | I've seen the JPM at GC and I'd say it's more like Inca Silver than Sage Green, or maybe kind of a hybrid. It's quite nice, but I, too, would like to see Fender return to more classic colors. |
