One issue you run into when doing something like this is that the bottom cutaway on a Jazz bass is deeper and much more pronounced than on a Jag. IMHO, when you start rounding off the lower horn on a Jazz without doing something to the upper horn, it unbalances the bass, and it starts to look awkward.

In the photo below, the Jag body is in black, with the Jazz overlayed in green. You can see the differences in the lower horn/cutaway area. Even though the Jag horn is shorter, the cutaway is not as deep.

Anyway, I took off a little of the lower horn on a Jazz in MS Paint. I did this by eyeball and mouse, so the curve doesn't accurately match the Jag lower horn, but it gives you a general idea of what it might look like.

Farida guitars makes a bass that looks pretty close to that photoshop. They're pretty cheap too.

The cut-aways need to be deeper, unless you're going to put wood back into them on the Jazz re-cut.

yeah that looks cool and all but I need to see what awilkie84 said.

a reshape of the jazz bass to a jaguar shape. I'd like to see the look of the upper and lower cutaway from a jazz to jag

thanks for effort though! i'll post this on my FB. really cool concept.

Definitely! Reminds me of Tino Tedesco basses.
