I just bought a Jazz clone so I have that tone available with my new band.
What are some good examples of Jazz basses in rock music? |

That album is a BASS CLINIC. (Brief hijack, does anyone have info about what albums/songs JPJ recorded with what basses?)
I can't think of a better jazz bass in rock sound than JPJ. |

I'm not a noob. But only in the last few years have I taken the time to turn down and really focus on tone.
I've really gotten some great P tones with my current setup, just trying to add the other side of the spectrum (yeah, musicman tones are probably next).
Once you turn down the volume and focus on creating a good sound, music really becomes fun. |

I can't think of a better jazz bass in rock sound than JPJ. | First three records, to my ears, sound like almost all his Jazz Bass with flats or maybe rounds on a couple tracks.
J with flats: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ANwQW8aspI
J sounds like with rounds: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3unrerTb0A |
