The approach to this bass is unlike anything I've ever played. The ingrained resistance I've had to other basses problems (action, attack, neck issue etc. etc. ) are just NOT THERE. So at first i was over compensating and finding the Q5 a little over whelming to play. Now that I've got hours under the belt, this is the best instrument I've ever owned.

+1

No pics means no Q5 + mind not blown = didn't happen.

Seriously though huge Congrats - and we need pics.

I've been an Alembic player for many years. However, after seeing Phil Lesh play his Modulus with Furthur, and coming across a Q6 at Bass NW, I made the plunge. I totally agree with your assessment of the Quantum series. They are amazing basses. Much easier to make sound good compared to the Alembic. Don't get me wrong, I still love my Alembic, but the Modulus stands up to it on equal footing.

Now you need a Quantum 6 and a Quantum 5 or 6 fretless and don't forget you also need a TBX also.

Q6 s are monsters. I'm sure you know Dave schools plays one of them. I'm already starting to hear - for example hitting harmonics - similar sounds to his playing
I'm going through an Eden head > ampeg cab and it sounds huge.

What differentiates. Quantum from a quantum tbx? I wasn't clear when doing superficial research.
