Nice ENJOY! I felt that way about my Fender Roscoe Beck Sig V. It took some getting used to when I got it because everything I hated about other basses wasn't there. Have fun!

Seen a 90's Q6 TBX on Minneapolis CL like 1-2 weeks ago for $3k, gone like in 2-3 days...

Brand news are around $7-8k MSRP, $5-6k retail...

I ended up selling my Q5, but swore would get another. Less than 2 months passed before I bought a Q6 (chechen board walnut top) to pair with my FU4. Modulus gets my attention above Ric, CS Fender, 'Wick, and Roscoe that all sit cased up. The necks are absolutely brilliant. The harmonics are so consistent and solid. Some complain of spacing issues, but personally it just made me tighten up the form and become more consistent. Anyways.....
Congrats to you on your acquisition!!

Did you notice any difference with Chechen Board? I almost picked one of those up./ They sure look nice.

What specific functions of the quantum are enhanced with the TBX?

Amazing especially through BIG PA system!!! I play a Q6 I got back in 2002 especially when playing outdoor festivals or in church which is 50,000 watts of Praise the Lord!

The TBX has a graphite neck-through design. I really like the bolt on, but have not tried the TBX which is a lot more money.

I have the chechen fingerboard and recommend it highly. It adds a tonal character to the midrange that is not there with the synthetic one.

Yep Q5's are great basses. Mine is a '91 and has never had any problems. I just wish I had the 4 string version as I'm not using a 5 much these days.

Chechen fingerboard is why I sold the Q5. The 5er had pheno and gloss neck. I played the Q6 while owning the Q5 and realized the Chechen board added some more depths in the mid range variety. Plus the satin neck just felt faster and smoother to the touch. So the Q6 essentially helped me move out of the Q5.
