Ok I see lots of love for everything else but us Kramer guys get left out in the cold. If you have pictures of your Kramers post them up. Here are mine.

Duke

I had a Duke in '83, love to have one now.

Whammytap 01-15-2009 03:05 PM

And how on earth do I do that? I'd love to show off my Baretta 5 and my Focus 8000. Although the Focus is getting a custom paint job right now.

8 STRING KRAMER LOVE

I do love my kramer, but I am trying to sell. It has the most wonder tone, but heavy

Are you giving out numbers?

got a custom using some Kramer parts. I dig the neck

I think Kramer made super nice basses and tend to get overlooked for some reason. I actually only have Kramer basses at this time.

Here is my Pioneer Special. It has an unfinished neck that feels awesome!!!!!!. Great P-bass copy.

I also have a Focus 77 bass that is kinda rare. Don't see too many of them. Super nice bass with a Schaller double j pickup.

And after having to sell my Fender Jazz recently because of finances, I really missed having a jazz type bass. I just won this Pioneer Double J on ebay yesterday for $158 (thank goodness for Christmas money!!). Can't wait to get it. It will go great with the Pioneer Special.

I'd like to join. I'll get pics of my Midnight Blue 87' Kramer Forum Three up later....
Thanks.

Here's my 8 String from back in 1983. Not sure of the weight , but man it's heavy!

Cheers,
Jim

Here's my double Darkstar '79 650b.

Darkstars don't make it any lighter.

Russ the Darkstars make that bass look awesome! I'm sure it sounds as good as it looks.

Cheers,
Jim

Jim,

Thanks. Yeah, they are a real good match for the Kramer. With flats the bass just kills.

One of these days I'll do a single pickup version.

Very cool!! How much does it actually weigh?? I'm not a Kramer expert but I don't remember them being ALL that heavy, back in the day. My Peavey T-45 with a single DS weights just under 12lbs and it feels like a TON

rrybicki 01-17-2009 06:55 AM

I'd guess about 12 pounds, maybe a bit less. I think it was a bit over ten when I first got it. Darkstars are like big iron slugs and I bet they weigh a pound apiece.

I am out of town for a while right now, or I'd weigh it for you and let you know.

There is something odd about the ergonomics of the bass. Even though it is the heaviest bass I own, it is also the most comfortable (with a 3 or 4 inch strap).

Weight aside, it's a very cool and unique bass. I'm sure it sounds incredible as well. I should have weighed the DS pup on my digital scale when I had it out. Despite the weight of my bass, it's the one I play the most.

ferrington

I have a sweet old acoustic Kramer Ferrington. Black with original HSC you could actually sleep in it is so big.
My usb ports are on the fritz so when I get them fixed I will post pix.

Love the bass, had it redone by a luthier who used to work for herritage guitars.

Check out the new Kramer model they had up in the Fender room at the NAMM Show:

I think the production model will have and EMG (instead of Bartolini) pickup. This thing had a great neck on it, and played really well.

Tom.

KramerBassFan 01-20-2009 01:30 PM

BTW, what kind of neck joint is on that new Kramer Bass?
Thanks.

Damn, I don't think I took a shot of that. As I recall, it was a bolt-on.
