Cool Krapp. I may have to check into one of these things. Is the shipping reasonable?

A couple shots last Thursday night, at Cafe Nola in Schenectday NY

www.cafenolany.com

if you're ever in upstate NY check it out for finest Creole cuisine and music mayhem, too. Large variety of Abita beers on tap and in glass.

We're back there tomorrow for Fat Tuesday.

Very cool. I have a buddy and former bandmate that lives in Gilboa a bit past there.

Another baby on the way.

I worry about Kevin when he's got nothing on his bench. You know what they say about idle hands. So with all the wannabees around here who talk-the-talk and seem eager, but too timid (or broke) to pull the trigger, I step up to the plate once again.

Seems you need to get back to basics here (no pun)

Its about crappy basses not ridiculous basses.

The first bass Kevin made for me was polished mallee wood with nails for tuners and a fence strainer for a bridge. The action was about 2 inches high.

Hit that fat B though and it rattled the louvres.

I asked for a reproduction fo my first fretless 2-string, except w/ bass-size tuners, and a truss rod... it's on its way

In inquired with krappy about a four string fretless fenderish bass. He told me he can make something with rosewood or maple for the fingerboard, and other hardwoods for the neck (neck-thru). With staggered contrasting woods for the visually appealing effect, and a truss rod and a sealed blade style humbucker. I have no experience with these basses. What do you guys think about something like this? Anyone have pics of something similar?

Nice, Joe - like that pointy headstock. Does it sound/play as good as the first?

Oh, and I used The Twig recently to accompany a singer on 'Fever' a la Peggy Lee - the perfect gnarly sound.

Yes it sure does. Usually I play washboard and spoons and bones and such with the hillbilly band. But sometimes our regular bass-player can't make it because he also plays trombone in a jazz band. In which case I am the back-up bass player. So last Thursday I got to play my new Krappy 2 out in public for first time. Yeah, it worked out splendidly.

'Krappy Fever' sounds like a winner. Who was singin' ??

Blues singer I know. Hey, we might have to record that and pass it to Kevin for his demo page.

Kevin is busy.

He just walked 47 miles of barbwire with a rattlesnake skin for a necktie.

Anyway who needs 2 strings? Putting my order in for 1 roundwound on a jazz fretless.

Puts full face helmet on and calls Kevins bluff.

Then off to check out Flamin Groovies and Blue Oyster Cult.
