Dude, I had one just like that yesterday. It was a Pre-Fender made in '88. I just sold it and shipped it today. Man, now I'm sad. This thread just broke my heart. |

Add me to the club (2003 Custom Maple Quilted Top Ex-Factor):
I also have this '96 Blueburst Key Factor 5 that I scored from fellow TB'er Stacey1461 back in November:
- Ugly.

And great timing too-I just recieved a fretless neck and have sent it and my Pink bass to Phil for fitting. I bought this Ex Factor new in '88, it's # 524. I've always thought a fretless Factor would kill, now I'll have interchangable necks!
Pearl Pink was a very limited run of 20. The first one was made for Jamaldeen Tacuma by special request, and while he had the paint mixed he did a batch. |

This was my back up for many years, purchased from the original owner. I spoke w/ Phil about it and he doesn't even have one that old! We believe it was the 3rd ExFactor sold, the first going to John Taylor and the second sold in Nashville.
The pick up spacing was different on this first run, the neck P/U butted up against the heel and man it was HOT! I think he toned down the pre after this.

- Ugly. | I thought about getting the quilt top---very nice looking. It was kind of a tough choice, but decided to go with the Flamed Hoduras Mahogany with ebony inlay between the pickups.

It's funny, but they really aren't collectable yet. I'd still get less than I paid for the Pink new in '88. ($1200) |

It was my main go to bass up until about a year and a half ago when I got my F Bass BN5. I still enjoy playing it. I have to see if I can find a good pic.
