| Lakenstein 44-64 I just purchased this bass on E-bay..The description had it listed as a "Lakeland" bass. While searching Ebay I happened to spell it wrong also. I was drawn to the matching head stock and noticed no lookers or bids. I also noticed the battery box on the back. I really needed to know what this creature was as I had never seen a Lakland 44-64 like this. I E-mailed Brian Gingrich @ Lakland and asked for help in Id'ing this bass.
He responded: Where can I get one of those stickers that's on the headstock?
That's a 1.5" (jazz taper) neck.
It's a 44-64, but with a neck that we use on our model called the Decade. We've put together one or two of those as a courtesy to a few dealers / artists. Surprised to see one show up on Ebay, as we've only made one or two.
I don't know what that battery box is on there. It's not an active model - at least it wouldn't have been when it left the shop.
I received the bass yesterday and it's in a better than described condition in a genuine Lakland case. I removed the battery box and pickguard to check wiring and found 9v leads terminate at the knobs.(not hooked to anything)
This thing sounds awesome and plays like butter. Just wondering if anyone has seen this before. |
