Skylines pop up here in the classifieds often.

A 5501 is your best bet if you want a cheap Lakland. I would prefer to shell out the extra couple hundred and get a 5502. But, like FunkyMcNasty said, keep checking the classifieds.

$1500.

I'd say $950 -$1000 used. That's the route I'd go.

You're gonna hate me...I got my 55-02 Deluxe for free from a giveaway.
I recently traded it for a custom bass though.

I've seen the 5502 deluxe go for around 900-1000 here. And I also have seen the regular 5502 go for as little as 800. The 5501 you can get in the 600 range. But, I would recommend trying to get the 5502. The 5501 is a fantastic bass, but I'd make the jump.

Man, too many numbers here for my brain to process.

There are about 6 55-02 basses in the emporium right now, starting at around $850.

a used 55-01 would be $500 to $600

a used 55-02 would be $900 to $1000

BOTH GREAT basses!

the necks and bodies are the same....the difference is in the pre-amp and pickups....the 55-02 has more variety in potential tones, but there is a huge 55-01 follwoing here on TB....
