Lakland great instrument but ...I HATE THE SHAPE OF THEIR BRIDGES

Call me crazy but, I just HATE THE SHAPE OF THEIR BRIDGES i know they are great basses but i HATE THE LOOK OF THE BRIDGE ... anyone feels the same, -i just hate their oval shape- it just ruins the look of the rest of a great instrument...

I think this goes in the basses sub amirite...

My gripe with the bridge is that it would be near impossible to put a bridge cover over it unless you make one yourself. As a cover addict basses always feel naked without them...

Not a dealbreaker though imo.

it's part of their trademarks, and one of the things that makes it immediately recognizable as a Lakland. If you don't like it that much, don't play it. Lots of other good choices out there.

Personally I really dig the look. I think it works well with no pickguard.

If it's a matter of make-or-breaking a purchase, geez, just change the bridge to one of your liking. Pretty standard, really.

I love the bridge so much that I'd consider buying a Lakland just for the purpose of having a bass with that bridge on it. Seriously.

The body is asymetrical and it makes me crazy. It doesn't look like the strings are in the middle of the body. But I owned and played one for a while, very nice bass.

I love the oval bridge. I just got my first lakland yesterday but it wasn't the bridge that sold me. It's a Skyline Jazz with blocks/binding and it just sounded better and felt better than any bass in the store, including the US made Fenders.

I don't mind it.

Trust me...go play one and you won't care what shape the bridge is.

If you get one, I will swap you the equivalent replacement bridge of your choosing to use the oval bridge on my SX Fakland.

+1 with this offer. I love the Lakland bridge, wish I could get a similar aftermarket bridge for my upcoming project.

I think the shape and the mass of the bridge is what makes Laklands such a solid instrument. Yeah, the oval shape isn't something you see on any other basses but hey, at east they're not Trabens. Now that's a bridge that would be a deal breaker for me.

I like the Lakland bridge. It one of the easier bridges to intonate (*ahem ahem* Rickenbacker, Spector, Gibson), and it is quite unique. I wonder how much it weighs compared to other Fenderesque bridges though. I also wonder if a replacement bridge can be dropped in.

I've seen Lakland basses that I thought were gorgeous until I saw the bridge and I've seen Lakland basses on which the bridge was just icing on the cake. for instance it looks awesome in post 11
