For what?
Being a blabber mouth on the thread and hogging up 20% of the posts? hahaha!!
Was just excited to learn the new brand I had been gassing about for quite some time.
Promise I will try to refrain from blowing up the thread the next 1000 posts, I am trying to hang onto the basses I have for awhile. Lakland G.A.S. remission | Nah!....keep it going....we need some more enthusiasm!
Remission? Really? Really?
Not likely

My question: what circumstances do you prefer to use one bass over the other, or is it just a coin flip when you head off to your gig?
I eagerly await your replies, Doude...

I go through phases. Most recently, I was digging my Brute and used that for the last two gigs. Prior to that, the 55-01 was on a roll. I've taken the 55-02 to band practice the last two times. |

I love my 44-02 for its versatility, but the overall tonal profile of the -01 basses really appeals to me for 'everyday' use. That said, nothing beats the 44-02 in the studio. Occasionally I'll get a wild hair and the 44-02 goes out for a string of regular gigs with me. <shrug> It's an imperfect science. |

I have been leaning on my 01 live, mainly because the nordy dual coil and Mike Pope combo gives me some great vintage tones, with killer edge when needed. The 02 is more....precise? I love what it can do, but not for my one current project. For my own writing, all three are used.

When you have the option for stringing through the body or just through the bridge alone which do you and is there any noticeable, audible difference either way?

I'm gonna install a John East P-retro in my BG, and haven't decided if I should leave the Hanson Vintage pup or put in an '70s Model P?
Still haven't gotten around to take my own pics of the bass, so here's another one from one of the former owners: |

Its a 2011 USA Glaub custom ordered P/J with the in-between neck width -- in-between the J and P width. This guy was custom ordered for a country artist to use on the 2011 CMA awards show, didn't arrive in time, and was sold by the dealer. I am the second owner. I'm not a huge black bass fan and did have to change out the original black pick guard for this red tort. She looks classy, now. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
