Mark, I've got a CAR one with Dark Stars that I absolutely love. I've tried one with Barts and one with Chis, but they were brief (albeit delightful) auditions. I'm pretty sure Alan/Chef has or had one with Barts.

I'll shoot Chef a PM then...I just happened upon this particular bass as is. I was most curious about Chis, but so far the Barts do sound pretty nice. It has LaBella flats on it, which also sound kind of nice

I can't afford to fall in love with USA's. I need to stick to Skylines. Training wheels, people. Training wheels.
Well....GAS gets in the way

Nothing wrong with Skylines....they are GREAT basses.....you will feel happy and not "stuck" with them.....better than many MIA Fenders imho

Trying to talk myself into rolling a few "other brand " basses to obtain it.

Yeah, saw the other buckeye that was sold.
THAT one is truly the one I would want.
Sadly someone already made it theirs sigh
Selling more of the "other brands"huh?

Ever think you will be just one brand?

Those fancy top basses seem to go fast

The DJ5 came in yesterday. It is absolutely spotless. Fit and finish are indeed on par with USA Fender models, and in some cases, maybe even better. I love my Fenders so this pains me to say so.

I sat down to noodle last night when I should have been doing my homework for rehearsal. Not sure what happened but two and half hours later, I finally took the headphones off.

Haven't spent any time on a 5 banger in years with the exception of playing one for a song here and there. The neck was amazing and in no way cumbersome.

While I haven't played at serious volume yet, the Fralins installed by the PO have thus far left me breathless. I don't have anything to compare them to other than stock and Fender Custom Shops, but wow.

Should be a fun night tonight at practice. Anyone want some over/under action on how many times I yank on the B thinking I am grabbing a handful of E?

I would jump on it , if I were you.
Lakland HB's are amazing basses.
I would love to add 2 more to my line up.
I have a USA HB loaded with darkstars now.
But would love to grab an HB with barts and an HB with chisonic humbuckers. TRIPLETS!!

You should buy it...
If you decide to roll it later on, the CAR color HB's are real lookers and are an easy and quick sell on here.

I figured as much

Gonna do a gig with it tomorrow and take it from there...so far, I like it a lot...it's got LaBella flats at the moment...I've always liked those as well, so it's all good

I am one of the odd people who likes rounds on my HB.
I bought it wearing flats.
It was nice...but too thumpy for my ears...

With the darkstars being so sensitive I like how DR low riders sound on it.
I can get an amazing range of tone....
I have a blast with this bass , more so than any other really.

found a used USA HB and thought it prudent to post it here...and lo! Everybody is on the topic of HBs!!

It's inca silver with barts.

And yes...I prefer rounds, too. d'addario half rounds are cool, as well. My HB has barts.

huh? $1,899 with free shipping and hard case is a pretty good price on that inca HB. I really would love to have 3 US HB's. I think having one with Dstars...one with barts and one with Chi's would be amazing.
Sure they would all have their own personality, meriting having them.

Thanks for the headsup man! Wish I was not going after something else in the Lakland family right now, or It would be mine all mine...( evil grin )

Back in with a 5502...

Question:
is the L/H preamp's mid band selectable under the control cavity panel somehow?
if so, what are the frequencies?

what are bass/mid/treble freq's any way?

is there a gain trim pot in there?

thx

Nice! Here are a few docs that will help:

http://lakland.com/tech-docs/Alterna...20settings.pdf
http://lakland.com/tech-docs/lh3-controls.pdf
Not sure about the bass and treble frequencies. There's a trim for the output level of the pre on the board too. It's a little Philips head.
