Dang Chef ! I got to noodle briefly on one of those owned by a fellow TB er. Frankly it was a dead toss up for me between the 55-02 and the DJ5. I ended up with the DJ but may have to grab a 55-02 as well. I am a sucker for a maple neck.

Looking forward to your report sir. And as always, thanks for all of the sharing you do with your latest conquests.

When I had my HB, I alternated between LaBella Black Tapes and DA XL170 nickle round.

There are dip switchers to set the mids in the control cavity.

You buy basses like I buy muffins.

Edit: not sure how I missed the fact that Chef's post wasn't the most recent. I may have to put the phone down an TB from an actual computer ins if these days...

It's not in hand yet...might be Friday next week, depending on shipping over the holiday kinda thing.

I had a bart loaded one long ago, which was kinda "too smooth jazz" for me.
I've heard the LH loaded ones are more aggressive; if not, it'll be a quick catch and release.

Don't look at it that way, people get rid of some fantastic stuff because it's just not for them... i.e. my recently acquired DJ4.
You're just lucky to have Chef to funnel it thru.

Oh I agree. I got to play the DJ5 at volume last night and it was so sweet that every time I hit a note, I had no desire to move to the next note as the one I was playing was perfect !

We all get nervous every time that we see a FS/FT and someone says it has the best tone that they have ever heard.
I always ask myself, "if it's the best tone ever, how could they possibly be selling it?"

In my case, the guy just preferred another color. And I thanked him again for it this morning!

Keep chucking wood, Chef ! Perhaps I can just put in my next order with you. Sooner or later it will surely come to pass.

I only hang the bass like that in really rowdy bars. It gives the drunks something to aim for when they are throwing things. If you give them something to aim at, they never, EVER hit it. Surely you know this.

That's a Kilo head (45 pounds) on that strap. It was taken in my LR. I was so stressed out trying to get the shot. When I finally got one I liked, I cradled the HB gently while lying on the floor and wept softly. I have promised to never to put it in harm's way again.
