After a quiet-ish period here, posting has picked up the last few days--right when you started participating again!

fwiw; my ballpark setup is 1/16" between top of fret and bottom of string, at 12th position, while fretting first position, and "about a business card" worth of relief at 5-7, fretting 12 and 1....makes sense, right>

I am shopping for a new bass, and really want to go the Lakland route. I have a Classic 70s Jazz. Would like to stay with the Jazz sound, and of course have some tonal variation.
So far,
Lakland Daryl Jones
Skyline 44-AJ.
Sorry for the thread derail!

Sorry for the thread derail! | I own a DJ4 and enjoy it immensely. It doesn't have that 70s jazz sound because of pickup position but its still a great jazz sound. Neck is thin and the body is comfortable and light. I highly recommend it.

Like you I also have a Lakland coming in on Friday, it is a trans blue 4401 maple with Chi and LH3. I believe it originally belonged to Holdsg. Looking forward to giving it a whirl.

I don't have any other 35's, and I'm very much ok with the rest of my toolbox.
But, I like trying stuff, I've always admired the 5502D cherryburst, and I'll enjoy it no matter how long it sticks.

gab | Glad to see it stayed in the family. Seriously good "value" bass.
