I typically tend to go through each bass I have with a fine tooth comb and clean them up to Factory New Condition. I'll have my work cut out for me on this one off Copper 44-94 as it is already Uber-Clean and looks to have come direct from Lakland TLC shop - there's literally nothing to do or polish.
I have a few things up my sleeve and already in the works.
(I apologize for the poor quality photos) | Very cool Gordon! Quote:

So I cannot hold off till it arrives Thursday or Friday to post pics.
This is my first brandy new US Lakland purchase.
Kinda bet is will not be my last
I have had my eye on this beauty for over a year now.
I LOVELOVELOVE me some Buckeye Burl!
And had been drooling over the pics monthly on BC.
I finally decided enough was enough!
So to preserve my sanity and mental state I listed and sold two of my basses and added a bit O cash.
The result will most likely end up being my favorite bass of all time I am guessing.
Hope these 44-94's are all they are cracked up to be
Here she is | Not to worry Dan, I'm sure it will be all that and a bag of chips as you say. Seriously, I love my US 44-94, weight, comfort, sound, etc. Just a superb piece of bass goodness.
On another note, I just received a package from Lakland today, a complete set of black hardware, hmmm... what could that be for?

Here she is | Wow, you did it! Good on you!
Though it was really the only option
I have to say yet again that, whereas my appreciation for skylines is uh... spotty, I do love the US Lakland magic and hope to board that boat someday. |

Thanks man!!
HAD to do it...could not drool at the pics any longer..
I had 2 skylines for a short time..both were cool basses and for $$700 - 800 or so used and super clean...great bang for the buck.
But having owned both...it is night and day difference between the skylines and US laklands.
I am a big fan of the Laklands I now own...Thanking Markus for initially talking me into buying that first one...lol

Thanks,

But from what I understand..
They were a limited run of 44-94 basses that had Chisonics in them instead of the normal pickups of that time...Which might have been barts?????
I know I own one...and Gordon owns one.
Do not know of any others that I have seen posted recently???
Gordons and mine are back to back serial numbers! Like brother 44-07's!! Very cool!
Not sure about his?
But mine has Chisonic humbuckers...
I like the chi buckers better than the singles personally. Quote:

So, do we flip a coin to see which one of you needs to sell me their 07? JK I really like the way they look and after watching Ed Fridland review one for LOG I really started gassing.
Thanks for the info much appreciated,

hahahah
Well ya never know with me man.
I am always on the edge of doing something nuts in the name of GAS!
But I did tell myself the 44-07 was a lifer...
I think I might be REALLY hard pressed to let go of it ever.
And speaking for Gordon...I already made a play at the Mai Tai /ebony 44-07 of his several times and got nowhere fast...
I think it is safe to say his is a lifer too. lol.
But keep putting it out there..... here and on the LOG site ya want one.
I bet ya will find one before ya know it...
There must be a dozen or so of them floating around I would think?

They don't make that model anymore. Chisonic humbuckering pickups are discontinued. Dan...you need to try singles in standard J positions! And the Vintage ones are killer too! |

The Chi buckers won out to my ears.
But that is clearly apple n oranges...
I mean the Decade was passive and the 44-07 active...
So it is not a fair way to judge I guess.
