Lakland Skyline 44-60 or 44-AJ

Hey I am looking to get into the market to buy a lakland cause I am looking to buy a serious instrument with great tonal variety for good price and I have heard this is the way to go.

I am pretty set on either the skyline 44-60 or the 44-AJ, which would be best for Alternative rock, Christian rock, and also slap funkish???

Thanks.

No one except YOU can answer that for you. Me, I'd go for the 44-60 because I have the perfect active bass(es) in my US Lakland 4-94s. But I could certainly use a great passive Jazz, and my preference is for the Lakland. I suspect with the stuff you're listening to and wanting to play, that the active AJ might be more useful to you.

If there's any way possible to try a few of each before you buy, do that. You're getting ready to spend a good bit of cash, so invest the time and energy to travel if you have to in order to let YOUR ears and YOUR hands help you make the decision.

I will go for the 44-60 and add a preamp, i used to have one with a j retro and love it, I traded it for a 55-60 passive but I will add a j retro as soon as one show up in the classified section.
