Yeah, I do most of my home practicing on my Deluxe P Bass Special, SUB Sterling, and either my SUB5 or sr905 - but all of those have seen gig and rehearsal time, too... I don't practice with my "gigging basses" for the most part, they way they keep fresh strings on them longer...

Well, exclusive's a strong word, but I seldom use my '70s Ibanez Studios for gigs because they're so bloody heavy, but I practice with them a lot because I love the necks. They get gigged only once or twice a year.

Roland Bass Micro Cube RX. Loud enough for home use or playing with acoustic instruments, tuner, drum machine, half dozen amp models, battery or wired power, 1 foot square and about 10 lbs.

I can't take a pic of my practice setup, because I use my phone!!

I run an Apogee Jam into my iPhone 4S running Jamup XT with the Bass Expansion. I use the same setup live, into a DI.

Here is my practice set up, I don't usually have the pedalboard at home, so it is usually a bit simpler.

I run a little 10 watt guitar amp into a 90 watt Pioneer home speaker. Tooootally sucks but it's all I have for the next few weeks. I would take a picture but it's not even worth the tiny bit of effort it would involve.

It depends if I have to be quiet or not. Just IPad for early morning or late night then amp when no one is home. Have been messing with the ipad as preamp, sound great.

Ibanez 5 string Bass with updated electronics
IPad 2 With JamUp
Ampeg BA115HP combo (also for gigs)
Boss ME-20B for compressor

Are there free apps for IPhones that can be downloaded in relation to bass? What adapters could be used to run through the iPhone and use it as a preamp?

Most start out free but JamUp is good. Get the free version then add the Bass Package if you want.

At home:
Squier FL / Jaguar > GK MB112
or
Squier FL / Jaguar > DI > Yamaha Mixer > QSC > 2x 12" Cabs

In hotel:
J&D Jazz > Zoom B2 > Headphones or USB card to PC > Headphones

I'm currently in the hotel, so the photo is not worth the effort!

Here is my modest practice rig. The Washburn is sold. I usually choose a P or J from the ever-changing arsenal. I have a half-stack that my instructor plugs into. Also a karaoke player with remote that I use for playing along with the Ed Friedland CD. And a music stand. And a little 88 key Casio. And a guitard amp in case one should happen by. Out of control? Yes!! But... all this stuff prevents the War Department from annexing the Man Cave.

+1,000.

Jamup (free version) plus the bass expansion pack has completely replaced my amp in my new acoustic rock project.

Here's my updated practice setup, taken with my wife's phone so I could include Jamup and show how my phone is mounted.

Everything I need is within reach.

My interface is the Apogee Jam, BTW.
