Here are the pics:
The body is from an SX J with upgraded bridge, copper shielded control cavity, and parallel/series push/pull pot.
The neck is a rehabilitated Squier P-Bass neck. It's a bummer that the neck is a P-Bass neck but the nut is only 1 5/8" not the usual 1 3/4" so it's okay. It's nice and thin too. I was able to trade the neck I had defretted for this one and the heel fit the neck pocket just right. I cleaned it up, oiled the fretboard, polished the frets, sanded the decals off, coated it with some spray poly lacquer (and the colors match), and installed some really nice tuners that came from another SX bass.
Maybe this isn't a huge achievement but assembling random parts into a nicely functioning whole was a challenge. I'm going to put it on CL in a few minutes hoping to start scraping together cash enough to get the bass I want from the Classifieds.
