A lot of Coheed songs require playing fifths, and the D string is always a LOT louder than the A. You only really notice it when you alternate strings, like: 5 on the A, 7 on D. Really hope it's nothing serious.. Anyone have a similar issue, or is this a nonissue?

If this is the case simply tighten the screw at that end of the pickup to lower it deeper into the body.

If you have just bought it new then you may find the stock strings are cheap and nasty. It points to a pickup height or strings problem for me.

Also, did you buy it new or secondhand? If it's secondhand you could have a different brand of D string. |
