Making my jazz really mean Hello all. i have been using a thunderbird quite a lot in my band, but also love my fender jazz deluxe (2012 model) and I want to make it sound meaner than it already does (keep in mind it has dimarzio model j's) My idea is to acquire two mike lull thunderbird pickups and then find a respectable luthier to route the body and install them. I understand mike lull sells similar style basses (JT4) but im keen to make my jazz something...different. Any thoughts or experiences which could help me in my venture would be appreciated! Cheers Mikael:bassist: |

If you're set on routing, you could get a pair of Sadowsky soap bars and extend the rear rout toward the bridge. That would give you a mean, throaty bark. If that's not the kind of mean you're looking for, try something else. |
