Matt Freeman P Bass on the way!

Finally ordered a Matt Freeman Squier. Can't wait for the big brown truck to drop that sucker off!

One question for current owners - will a Fender replacement pickguard drop on this bass with no drilling? I bought the vintage white model, and I'm thinking I might want to put a white guard on it.

it will fit but only after filing down the area around the neck joint,I know this because I had a fender replacement tort guard for years and I put it on my squier VM p bass, had to make it fit and work it till all the holes lighned up ,it can be done with patience, lot of filing around that neck joint is the biggest concern but it came out nice,,,Amber p bass with the tort guard...good luck

I have a CV in Sonic Blue, which should be exactly like the MF in terms of pickguard-hole alignment. I took a chance, after much research, and ordered one in mint-green from Allparts; it fit right in! It was a bit tight around the pup, which needed a bit of shaving: a few careful strokes with a carpet knife. Otherwise, the holes lined up perfectly.
