|  | Registered User Endorsing Artist of Warwick Basses | | | | | the song that we have posted is the one song i pretty much play with the guitar players i dont sway off from them much at all, that could be part of not hearing the notes, but ill have a listen on normal speakers instead of monitors. the distortion is more than im used to but like i said ive been listening to it thru monitors so it has a lot more low end and is easier to hear what im playing, thanks for the heads up about the mix. |

Your bass blends well, could be mixed louder. Metal isn't my genre but I had to give it a listen anyway. Not bad. |

- In the intro, the "ethereal" vocals need to be brought more front-and-center; they currently sound like background ambience, making the lyrics too faint. Currently it sounds like a mistake rather than intentional. I think you can still get this effect while increasing clarity if you bring it forward.
- Similarly, the lead guitar solo, which sounds like it may be really cool, is completely lost in the mix, drowned out by the rhythm instruments. It needs some help cutting through, whether that's done by re-leveling, compression, or other tricks.
The dirty bass tone sounds pretty much spot-on, including the lingering sustain on the breaks. Hard for me to critique this style, however, since it's not my style, but I can appreciate it!
Overall great job, especially if it was a DIY effort! I think it would fit right in on hard rock radio shows (e.g., KISW "Grindhouse" show in Seattle). |
