Alright part 3!

On related news, the Fretless VJ landed last Friday and I really dig this bass. Will be posting pics in a few days, maybe more, still have a few little "mods" to finish before it's ready for it's debut. That makes two in the herd now.

Thank you. Actually those were all "after market" I did not receive the bass this way last Friday. Ordered all the parts, before it arrived and just put them all together today.

I kinda followed this bass when they sent the wrong neck finish. Guess I shoulda said nice *upgrades* or *mods* LOL. What did you do with the Barts?

Do you have any pix w/o the light reflection? It dominates the picture. I thought it was the bridge and wondered why it wasnt black.

Ah, that's what you meant, sorry just went car shopping last week so those terms were still in my head.

I still have the Barts, just pulled them, and the Black BAII and original control plate in black with the passive wiring straight from Modulus.

I have Delanos on four basses now and the thing I really like about them is that they are transparent and let the bass come through without coloring or darkening the tone like Barts do. Even though they call me Black Bart, I don't like Barts - I think there's some irony in that.

Nice top on yours, kind of reminds me of snake wood with the grain being so tight. Very nice indeed.

Here is my new to me 1995 Quantum 5 Sweetspot. Not the highest end Modulus out there to say the least, but as I acquired it in a straight trade for a EBMM Bongo, I think I did well.

I really like the feel of this bass though. Light, ergonomic and the neck is absolutely killer. The action is perfect and even after changing strings to a complete new gauge, it didn't move. I am not a huge EMG fan, but I like the tones I am getting out of this bass. If anything, it has amazing clarity and is very bright. This is no P bass!

P.S. Apologies for the carpet. Nobody should have to look at a pic containing that! My studio is covered in hand me down and cheap carpets. I'm sure this one belonged to someone's grandparents!

I hope to join the mighty Modulus mob one day! Whats the best four string modulus? I like the Q4's and the VJ4's. Any opinions? Who has owned both and sold the other?

Can't say anything about the Q4, but have both a VJ4 and FU4, neither are going anywhere if that tells you anything. They're kind of like chips, you can't have just one.

You did a great job on that bass. I was thinking of putting Barts in a 2 tek bridge bass to calm it down a little. *Black Bart* is ironic! I'll have to try Delanos someday.

Thanks Baird! That Q5S is sharp, too. I had to get used to EMG's. They seem to work well in mine. You'll really appreciate the neck in your climate. I don't have to worry about weather changes and humidity anymore. No more neck tweaks between indoor and outdoor gigs!

That rug really ties the room together!

So, my honeymoon with my Modulus made a turn for the worse!

When I plug in the bass, it only makes weird farting noises. Thought it was the batteries, replaced them and it didnt fix the issue.

Any ideas? Could it be the preamp? Input jack? PU? Maybe I am a dumbass and a battery isn't fully connected?
Help!
