I put many hours on that bass when I owned it and did both a Southern California and an England tour with it. As you know I took care of it, but I didn't clean it like that. It had a bit tarnish and dust build up. The time you put into it paid off nicely - looks beautiful. Kind of a time machine for you, isn't it?

- Tim | Tim. Yes, it's like it came out of a time capsule. I tell you, you really did a great job caring for this bass all of these years, THANK YOU!!. It's like the tarnish and dust have been protecting everything. It's not like it was filthy, it certainly wasn't, but a "deep cleaning" really made the bass look new. I didn't realize it went across the pond and back. I also forgot about the perfect neck and flawless intonation of this bass. I'll bet it was great to have on those long tours.

| | | Check out my new TBX. Modulus Quantum QW5-19TBX. Pink over blue. This bass is the best thing I have ever bought! I have hardly played any of my other basses since I got it.

| | | | The TBX basses have always been made by Joe Perman at Modulus. This bass is exceptional in every way. Wish I had the money to get a TBX6 for the collection! |

| | | | '92 Q5 *wide* neck through Great basses all, so mine-
I've got a '92 Q5W. The W as you may know stands for wide.
Now this thing, (ill post pics), is unique in that it is just the most well made instrument I've ever owned. With no truss rod they had to do the neck right. It steps down from the nut to the seventh fret, goes straight to the 12th fret, steps down to around the 20th and straight to the 24th.
I also ordered the seafoam green, (they thought I was crazy). It has a nice mellow yellowing on the edges of the finish.
Anyways I'm wondering if anyone knows how rare the wide versions are and what this thing might be worth, (although I gave strict instructions that it's to be buried with me when I die...)

Here is by FAR the best bass I own.
I'll never forget the the day I bought it. I wandered in the music store and the owner and the all counter guys were huddled around this bass. The owner (who knew that I'm prone to buying things that I decide I can't live without) was YELLING at me across the whole store: MAN! YOU'VE GOT TO HEAR THIS BASS!!! |
