I remember listening to Monk Montgomery's recordings as a kid and thinking what an innovator he was. But none of my friends, except a few jazz nuts knew who he was.
Collectors will determine if the price is realistic.

His younger brother Wes Montgomery is probably the most famous jazz guitarist in history. Few seem to remember Monk Montgomery himself though. Here's a funky (for the era) little cut from the man's aptly titled album "Bass Odyssey". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yc4d1YYOzOM

My name is Angie Seegers, and I've been friends with Monk's son for 20 years, and I play violin for him.
Take Care!!!
*The images of what Monk did where a nut was cracked and a sticker from France on the case I personally think really give it a soul. ENJOY THE NEW IMAGES THAT ARE UP >> |
