Moon jazz bass pickguard question

I bought and am waiting shipment on a used, 20 + year old Moon JB-4 Classic jazz bass. It never wore a pickguard on it's 3Ts body.

Any Moon bass freeks out here know if Fender brand PG's will fit it without much fuss?

Looks like you need one from an American Standard, so you can access the truss rod. However, I have no idea if the neck and pickup cut outs will match up.

That's gorgeous bass, are you sure you want to drill screw holes in it?

+1... I was always a big pickguard "modder" but my latest Jazz came without one and honestly I love it without...plus I would hate to drill through the gorgeous finish.

I'm with everyone else. Bad idea. You will probably have to have it custom fab'd and when you do, it'll likely not be perfect.

I will probably just leave it without a guard. But gee whiz those custom guards that Chuck Norris shown are very groovy.

Thanks for chiming in folks.
