Question Most expensive Bass guitars

Been Looking around and was wondering what the most expensice bass guitar in production was/is today.
I found The Ritter Royal Flora Aurum weighing in at $250000 which I would imagine is a once off or limited edition type.

But what I'm after is expensive production models. This is just curiosity for my general knowledge. So which is it?

Maybe I'd buy it & charge admission for people to look at it.

While the CT's not really a production bass, I really do like Ritters like in your opening post. Yeah, they can be very pricey. I think the one in your pic is actually painted with gold. I know Jens finished some models in 24 Kt gold leaf.

That is beautiful. If you want expensive production stuff, it'd be the Fender CS.

Just because someone sets some arbitrary price on something, doesn't mean it's necessarily worth that amount. Looks like a bass to me. And, at that price, unless it's been carved from the wood of Noah's Ark, this can't be considered anything more than a Hail Mary pass on behalf of Mr. Thompson.

I have a luthier friend in brasil that actually do that flora laser cut inlay in brass, his basses are greatly hand made with multi layered body and multi laminated neck with Brazilian rare exotic woods with the finest craftsmanship costs about about 2 to 3 k, arthur maia has already order one to himself
Cyrillo you own me that one lol

It should be clarified here that the "$10 Million Dollar Bass" was just a name. Carl posted it for sale on eBay for $10,000, making it still quite a bit cheaper than most custom Alembics.

By the way, on Alembic's own site I've been able to get their price estimator up to about $25,000 easy. Also, Spector had that one bass made from a 32,000 year old tree with mammoth ivory inlays on the fretboard. I'm sure that wasn't cheap.

Thanks for the clarification.

Alembics are great if you can afford them. For that matter, some Foderas are priced in the $12K-$14K range.
