Each one is custom made by a Mr. Kim who was pretty particular and fine tuned these instruments. Mine is a neck through that plays AMAZING. I would put it up against my Spectors any day. No fret buzz, NOTHING. Just to let you know that as Mr. Kim no longer makes guitars or basses, the ones that are out there can be worth a lot even though originally, they were very reasonably priced. I bought mine from a serviceman who was stationed in Korea, I've heard of these basses though.
Craftsmanship is better than most basses sold in the stores...so laugh at the name by all means (I did), but play that bass and you'll be blown away.
There was a guitar of his that sold for about $1000 not too long ago. I'm going to mark the auction and keep an eye on it. If it's still affordable, who knows, maybe I'll try to go for it. So yes, it's a crappy bass, not worth bidding on.. wink wink. |

I really don't know what would have possessed him to name it as such with all the other possible names he could have picked.
Imagine trying to describe you basses...
Fender, Gibson, Spector, Tobias, Rickenbacker and......Mr. Potato. Kinda sticks out. |

I had actually been to his store on a previous trip 14 years ago and bought a MIK Fender Strat from him. I don't know why he chose that name, but his basses are ok.

This seems like something that should be on engrish.com... | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
