Got a Gloss Red Tortoise Pickguard on order that should show up after the Holidays......Get rid of that large black thing and add a touch of class (with new pics)!
Hey Stephen, bass looks great, man the figured neck back is sick. I'm pretty sure you're going to dig the Red Tort guard, did
you go with Terrapin? Merry Christmas, Rick

Hey Rick,
Yes, I talked with Mary at Terrapin and sent them my black PG.
I just like being able to actually speak to a real live person so choice #2 really wasn't an option for me.

Just put some Circle K balanced strings on my Big AL 5.
124-94-70-53-37

Really really liking how these feel and play.
Almost feel like flats and have a slightly less aggressive sound than typical rounds.

So far, I am really liking them!

It's always a unique place to play

And the big Al was smokin all night through a Streamliner and AE212.

So, now I am thinking of getting a "deep gold" pickguard for the Dargie II Big Al. I did a VERY quick and dirty mockup in Photoshop; what do you guys think?

Still running the club, I had another Big Al on order since last year. I'm just planning to pay off some debt with this one and then eventually get a Reflex 5 HH now that I can get one in tangerine pearl.

I get no sustain joy from my Big Al... I wouldn't say it's dead exactly, but the notes tend to die pretty quickly. esp. on my E string. Any suggestions? The strings are not exactly new but are very well-maintained (I clean it pretty much after every time I touch it).
