Nope not a real MusicMaster.........a real Mustang, mabybe? Bad job on the decal at any rate.

it's definitely a real 1966 fender bass, but it's not a musicmaster, it's a mustang that has been poorly refinished. it originally was Daphne Blue.

This, yes. Exactly. And for the record, that decal might just be correct. When they started making Mustang Basses (in '66), they didn't have decals for them yet. Most really early ones had the Mustang guitar decal with the word "BASS" clipped and added on from a different decal. (maybe the Bass VI? Can't remember for sure.) But I've heard that some early ones also just said "Fender". Don't know for sure, but it's possible.
