I put the Wizard in my '77 Musicmaster and love it. It's got a pretty high output but maintains the single-coil character. Strung with DR Sunbeams, there's a nice little bit of growl when you dig in closer to the bridge but can be warm and thumpy closer to the neck. I wouldn't hesitate to drop it in the next Musicmaster I get if I don't decide to throw a Novak P in there.

I never got a chance to do anything to it, but my very first bass was a MusicMaster. Wish I still had it, even just for old times sake. Of course, if I did, I'd likely hot rod it a bit and still be playing it here and there.
