| My acoustic bass suddenly feels... different. Can anyone shed some light on it? For the last 3 months my main bass has been a tanglewood tab1-CE and I have been gigging with it, playing it in music class and playing it often. I pulled it out of the case today and it sounds (acoustically) kind of flabby. Like how a B-string sounds sometimes. I slap on it all the time and it sounds awesome, but it just sounds dull. I live in Canada and transport it often throughout the winter time but I try to limit exposure to the elements and carry it in a case.
I have two hypothesies:
1: the vibrations from music class is causing it to loosen up and I will have to get a new one
2: The weather has affected the truss rod and it will have to be adjusted (acoustic basses are affected by change in weather).
I'm just nervous about it, and too poor to get it repaired if something happened.
