This isn't technically a NBD thread, but something "make-up" for the lack of them on my part.
I have noticed a strange deficit in my contributions to this site: no NBD threads. So, let's change all of that. Let's right the wrongs of the past by partaking in viewing way too many pics of my basses. I won't say anything much about them as I don't want the text to get lost among the pictures. I'll explain my thoughts later if you explicitly ask for them though.
I'll start with my least favorite of my two Basses, and probably the most interesting to the Talkbass community: a Sadowsky MV5, black and maple.
And for my favorite: a 1984 Rickenbacker, in mapeglo with some mods the guy who had it before me put in. I ever thought I would like a Ric, but then again many Ric diehards would not consider this a true Ric (must be why I like it).
And that's about it. I hope you enjoyed the pictures.
I don't know if I will be able to muster up some clips, but I'll try one of these days and post them here.
EDIT, for those who cannot see my images, use these links please:

I see them fine on two devices. I can reupload them if you want. If your responses are due to not "getting" or "understanding" the thread:
I'll make a list to help with that:
1) Look at pictures
2) Repeat 1
That's what a NBD thread is all about, right?

I'll reupload the pictures on a more reliable host then.

Oh well, such is life.

They show up on my phone and both of my computers.
If they don't show up on yours, then I don't know what to say. Please make sure to try reloading your page and giving them time to open, the images are very large and there are quite a few. Quote:

It has an aethetic quality about it that I can't quite describe, I love it.

| | | This will sound a bit weird, but your sadowsky's fingerboard wood looks really nice. Might be the grain, it just looks really clean and, you know... nice.

If I cared more about feedback I would have posted more text... or choose my words more wisely in general I really just needed something to say before I got to the pics and that is what came to mind.
I know looking at basses is the only reason I come here, so I decided to provide some more images to gawk at. Quote:

I could not make it dirty even if I wanted to.

Originally Posted by Fuzzbassian how does that seymour duncan pickup in the bridge position of the rick go for you? | Well, when solo'd, the SD hum honestly sounds a bit like an old 70's 4001 with both pickups full on. In other words, it doesn't sound like a guitar with just the bridge pickup on. That is a problem every other Ric I have tried has that this one doesn't
With both pickups on it sounds not really all that different from a normal 4003. Maybe more "thick" overall, but it still has the Ric sound full stop. No feedback either.
The real star of the show is the little switch near the knobs. It has three positions:
1) neck + coil-tapped bridge, parallel --
Sounds like an old 4001 or something Lemmy would play.
2) neck + dual-coil bridge, parallel --
Sounds like a 4003, or your more "typical" Ric sound.
3) neck + dual coil, series --
Pumps out low-end like a Thunderbird but with the Ric growl and no mud. A stingray without the clank or a P with some bite, if you will.
That series switch option was worth the price of admission alone.

Very nice!
The RIC mod is very cool. I HATE that standard bridge PU. I can't get used to it no matter how hard I try.

Now if I can only get the ric-o-sound to work. Quote:
