Last night I put my P-bass out in the cold garage, hoping to cause some finish checking when I brought it back inside this morning.
It worked. But there was an interesting result when I went to rub some ash into the cracks to accent them.
The checking wiped right off!! That's right, Fender's lacquer heals itself!!
