@TheDialog - Wow! Now I'm officially jealous of anyone that's been able to attend NAMM.

OK, here's the same one GK showed at NAMM last year - it's supposed to be released in June (I presume she meant in 2013).

Also look for this in May. It has some really cool added features - speaker simulation and a "bite" control to take some of the edge off the treble control. I talked to John, the circuit designer, and he says there's no room for anything else in the box. Regarding someone's desire for stereo aux in and headphone out, he said this is a piece of professional gear intended for stage use. I tend to agree with his perspective. How many other DIs have that kind of gingerbread? (My comment, not his.)

No Benavente - I'll try to remember to get some Sunday. But I did see Sekou Bunch playing the new Fodera Hollowbody. Amazing sound.

The VT looks awesome. Classic GK, show the same thing they showed at last NAMM, and the stuff STILL isn't released.

Sounds like very little with regards to new amp products coming out. I guess that makes sense. LOTS of stuff on the market. Seems nothing new from GK, Genz, Aguilar, etc. The new all tube stuff from Ashdown looks interesting.
That Fodera... don't know quite what to think about that

Aguilar - showed some new soapbar pickups with a sweet mid-range tone...
Ashdown - some new stompbox pedals, and some wild small amps...
Lakland - JP and Leo were jazzed about their new short scale semi-hollow...
Mike Lull - really happy how his new non-reverse Birds play...
MusicMan - they brought back my old '78 Sabre - all 12 lbs. of it...
Nordstrand - two new headless basses...

Lots of sightings and photo ops as well. I'll try and get upstairs tomorrow.
This is great. Thanks for the update.

Actually, Ben's a young player from New Zealand who has studied with Alphonso Johnson and is a USC alum. He's the touring bassist for former American Idol David Archeletta. Still, I bet he's hoping he gets the wrong Special Payments Fund check from the AFM at some point!

Cool photos

But is it just me or a lot of brands did not put a lot of effort into it this year? I see last year's stuff and only one of two new things popping up now and there...is really the marked that saturated?

I'm going to guess that will retail around the same price as a basic model BMW 3 series.

Is the "Parallel Output" signal wet or dry? I'm assuming it's dry, like a typical DI "Through" jack?

Some really great pics here. I am loading all mine to my Favebook page Tom Richards and have some shots of the bssses and the builders as well. Feel free to visit it and share here. My fave so far is a pic of zMas Hino and a white Olinta.

Nice that Tech21 is always listening. Putting a speaker sim defeat, DI and Blend control on the original VT has been requested many times. Adding a Bite control also seems like a great feature since the VT can really snarl a bit too much at times. I've been using Tech 21 products for 20 years. Hard to imagine the world without them.

Ken, FYI the Vt Deluxe is Battery and phantom operated also.

Anyone see the Faded Sonic Blue AVRI Precision? If so, how's the blue in real life? Is it as washed out as the promo pix?

This could really be useful. Sweepable mid and it would be a no brainer, IMO.
