The natural finish, passive 5 string in front was just a super bass. Pretty much any tone you want from this bass, vintage, or modern. Really a special instrument and still available, I believe.
A couple more cool basses from Pat. The red bass with the flame top has a body made from 75 year old alder and the neck maple is over 150 years old! All that vintage wood and the Demeter pre-amp made for an amazing tone. |

I hope the show was a huge success for you! I did hear great reports about your amp!!!
Take Care!

And it is a KILLER jazz bass. It's like the best of the best 4-string J's I've played, only with a B-string down below. |

Rod had a very cool lefty Regenerator w/MM pickup. He only had one, but he also only had a small handful of basses, so the percentage of leftys was much higher with Rod.
RGW will be back next year. |

The second you pick one up it's just very comfortable and familiar. Nothing to adjust too. Just pick up and play. His new Road Tested line is very cool as well. All the quality of a high end boutique bass, but Pat has the bodies and necks made for him and he does all the assembly, finish and set up, which let's you get a remarkably good bass for around 2 grand.

My favorite bass in the booth. Just a nice full tone that was remarkably organic sounding with tons of bark and growl.

He plugged that bass into the rig and started playing and I was quite literally stunned at his playing. Off the hook amazing! By the way, the bass Pete built for me could quite possibly have the best B string I've ever played. Every note all the way down is just incredible focused with absolutely no blurriness or odd overtones going on. Amazing.
