| | Registered User | | | | | NB(B)D Reggie-homage My PJ Jazz build: I routed out the neck p/up slot then honeycombed under the pickguard; I also carved down the back--like a reverse-aerodyne--for the sake of cutting weight. I prefer the old fashioned bridge, and it's light but I also noticed the bass seems louder acoustically. maybe because of the honeycomb, maybe because of lack of ferrule gaskets under the bridge (contrary to tb wisdom). I wanted to get as little material as poossible between the strings & the body.
Bill Lawrence int eh front, Matsumoku in the back. Fender neck + hipshot ultralites. Dragonfire guts w my personalized birdseye plate. Can't be more than 6 or 7 lbs.

GORGEOUS, though.

And is the back translucent and the front not? |

@potsdam the honey comb is just a bunch of holes using 1/4" drill bit about 1-1/2 " into the body. I ddint feel like taking it apart. Lazy, lazy. | | Registered User | | | | | It cost me less than 300 to put this white bass together. Not bad for a really sweet player. Sensitive to light touch playing & the Lawrence neck pup loves chords. i'm really diggin it. |

| | Registered User | | | | | Well, I've been playing it as often as possible, even fell asleep with it last night, & I think I'm in love. I stripped the p'up screw now it's not as low as it should be. any solutions? Talking to myself.
Sounds like a semi hollow unplugged. The wood really resonates. Interesting finding. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
